Stir Fry 101

Fast & fabulous stir-fry techniques to “fry for.” 

Learn to cook healthy and delicious stir-fries in 15 minutes, setting you on the path to stir-fry stardom. Stir fry is a 5-step technique, and once all the DOs and DON’Ts are understood, you can come up with variations based on what you find in your fridge. The secret lies with preparation: sauces and infused oil to simplify the process, save time, and reduce costs. Soon they will be your pantry staples.

Course Contents

  1. Multi-purpose stir fry oil
  2. Multi-purpose Chinese stir fry sauce
  3. Homemade Chinese chilli oil (no fuss version)
  4. Sautéed noodles with fried spring onion
  5. Stir-fried bean sprouts and chicken with Sichuan chilli
  6. Stir-fried assorted mushrooms with prawns
  7. Stir-fried stem broccoli, beef (or lamb), and shiitake mushroom

  • Meats are from halal butcher + Alcohol-free recipes
  • Mandatory ingredients (no substitutions): Soy sauce, oyster sauce, black bean sauce, sesame, wheat, mushroom
  • Optional ingredients: beef, chicken, lamb, prawn, coriander
  • Red meat-free, pescatarian, vegan option offered: please inform us when you book
  • Duration:4 hours / 50% demo + 50% hands-on

    Best hands on class ever!

    Rany is an excellent teacher and her studio is beautiful. All the ingredients she uses are halaal and Muslims feel super comfortable. All you gotta do is attend: everything is provided.

    You get to see her in action and then she gives everyone an opportunity to create these dishes! She shows you all the tricks of the dishes and explains in detail. New friendships are made during the class with new people you meet. Her recipes are super detailed so it's difficult to go wrong.

    Would highly recommend attending her classes as this is really value for money. New skills, amazing food and new friends!

    Perfect for quick weekly meals!

    This was a wonderful course. I loved the different food combinations and it's always a great plus getting the recipes to take home. Rany gives you the opportunity to get involved and make the food as well as answers any questions you may have. She encourages questions and wants her customers to walk away confident that they can cook these recipes at home. This course would pair nicely with the 'Knife Skills course' which I can also recommend!

    Had the best experience with Rany and Umami Food Studios for our work function last week. We did the #StirFry101 course and learnt so much! Didn’t know there was so much to stir fry, but Rany broke it down step by step and even provided handout notes to take home. Not to mention the incredibly delicious food we got to cook and enjoy!
